Blue Gum Timber Veneer

Blue Gum Timber Veneer – Blue Gum (Eucalyptus saligna) is a large hardwood tree growing up to a height of 60 metres or more with a diameter of up to 2 to 2.5 metres. It grows predominantly in forests along the coast of New South Wales and southern Queensland.

The heartwood of the species ranges in colour from dark pink to a reddish brown. Its sapwood is distinctly paler. The grain of Blue Gum timber is typically straight, with a fairly- fine and even texture. It occasionally has an interlocking grain pattern and gum veins are common.

Blue Gum timber veneer is highly prized for furniture because of its rich dark honey colour.
