Ash Timber Veneer
Ash Timber Veneer – The Ash tree (Fraxinus) occurs widely in northern temperate regions. It is important commercially in Europe, North America and Japan. Typically, it grows up to 20-35m high with a trunk diameter of up to 1m. The sapwood of Ash is generally pale to almost white in colour. The heartwood ranges in colour from greyish brown to light brown. It has a conspicuous growth ring figure and is usually straight grained. Occasionally it’s decorative appearance is enhanced by a wavy grain.
Olive Ash is European Ash with a dark brown to black heart. The dark-on-light stripes of Olive Ash are similar to Zebrawood. Olive Ash is a sought after timber veneer.
